Terms & Conditions
-
Welcome to In The Event of My Demise (“ITEOMD”).
By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
-
ITEOMD is a legacy and memorial storytelling studio providing obituary writing, legacy narratives, memorial editorials, family history narratives, and related storytelling services.
Our services are intended to preserve memories and honor lives through written narratives. We do not provide legal, financial, psychological, or licensed funeral services.
-
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information, documents, photographs, and memories necessary to complete their project.
ITEOMD relies on information provided by clients and cannot guarantee the factual accuracy of information that is incomplete, omitted, or incorrectly represented.
-
Projects include a reasonable revision period to ensure the final narrative reflects the client’s wishes. Excessive revisions, significant scope changes, or entirely new requests may require additional fees.
-
Project timelines vary depending on the nature and complexity of the service requested. While every effort will be made to accommodate urgent requests, turnaround times cannot be guaranteed until all necessary information has been received.
-
Payment terms, deposits, and balances will be communicated before services begin. Work may not commence until any required deposit has been received.
All payments are non-refundable once writing, research, interviews, or editorial work has begun.
-
Stories often involve deeply personal information. ITEOMD approaches every project with professionalism, discretion, and care.
Client information will never be sold or intentionally shared with third parties without permission, except where required by law.
-
Upon final payment, clients may use their completed narratives for personal, memorial, and family purposes.
ITEOMD retains ownership of its original templates, methodologies, and proprietary materials.
With written permission, excerpts of completed projects may be shared anonymously or identified as portfolio examples.
-
Many of our services involve grief, remembrance, and sensitive personal experiences. While storytelling can be meaningful and healing, our services are not a substitute for counseling, therapy, legal advice, or professional grief support.
-
ITEOMD shall not be liable for decisions, actions, or consequences arising from the use of our written materials beyond the scope of the services provided.
-
ITEOMD reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions as necessary. Continued use of this website and services constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
