Frequently Asked Questions
What is In The Event of My Demise?
In The Event of My Demise (ITEOMD) is a legacy and memorial storytelling studio that provides obituary writing, legacy narratives, memorial editorials, and storytelling services designed to preserve lives with depth, dignity, and care.
What makes ITEOMD different?
We believe every life deserves more than dates on a page. Our work goes beyond templates by creating narratives that sound like the people they honor and reflect the lives they represent.
Who are your services for?
Our services are for individuals, families, and communities seeking to preserve stories before loss, during grief, or long after time has passed.
Do I have to wait until someone passes away?
Absolutely not. Some of the most meaningful stories are written while we’re still here to tell them.
Do you use artificial intelligence (AI)?
Yes—but thoughtfully.
At ITEOMD, we may use technology and AI-assisted tools to support certain administrative and creative processes, such as organizing timelines, restoring or enhancing photographs, transcribing interviews, checking grammar, or streamlining document formatting.
However, our work is never fully generated by artificial intelligence.
Every narrative is guided by human conversation, careful listening, professional writing experience, and editorial judgment. We believe stories deserve nuance, context, compassion, and cultural sensitivity—things that cannot be fully automated.
At its heart, our work remains deeply human. Technology may assist the process, but every story is handled with intention, care, and respect for the life behind it.
We believe technology can help preserve memories, but only people can truly honor them.
Are your services only for older adults?
No. Legacy has no age requirement. Every life has a story worth preserving.
Every story entrusted to us is treated with dignity, care, and respect. These terms exist to create clarity so that our focus can remain where it belongs—honoring lives and preserving legacies.

PHILOSOPHY QUESTIONS
-
Because conversations about death often become conversations about life, love, values, memories, and legacy.
-
Stories preserve memory. They teach, connect, heal, and remind us that every life leaves an imprint.
-
Legacy is not simply what we leave behind. It is how we are remembered, how we make others feel, and the stories that continue to live after us.
-
Shared experiences of loss often invite reflection. They remind us to think about our own stories, relationships, and legacies while we still have the opportunity.
-
That’s okay.
Some stories take time. Some conversations require courage. Some memories deserve gentleness. We’ll meet you where you are.
But whenever you’re ready, we’re here. Because stories don’t always wait until we’re ready.

LIVING LEGACY QUESTIONS

-
Because no one can tell your story quite like you can. Writing your story allows you to preserve memories, values, lessons, and perspectives that might otherwise be forgotten.

Not at all. Preparing is not giving up on life. It is honoring your life and preserving what matters most.
